Institute by Steven Klein.

Steven Klein is a photographer who likes to shock his audience. His work has always teetered on the edge of darkness, macabre but impressive. Klein shot high-profile advertising campaigns for various clients including Calvin Klein, D&G, Alexander McQueen and Nike and is a regular contributor to magazines including American and Paris Vogue, i-D, Numéro, W and Arena.
For the latest issue of ‘Interview, Klein created a violent non-existing world in which Crystal Renn stars as an abused patient, and Karolina Kurkova as her own creepy nurse. There’s an eerie cinematic feel and use of extreme bondage and dark nature. Ludivine Poiblanc took care of the styling which was, as usual, perfection.

Crystal Renn is one of the big names in the fashion industry. She recently appeared in the F/W 2010 Jean Paul Gautier campaign and has appeared in campaigns for H&M, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Saks Fifth Avenue, Jean Paul Gautier, Jimmy Choo, Barneys, Dsquared, and Nordstrom. Karolina Kurkova was awarded for ‘Best Model of the Year and the BH1/Vogue Fashion Awards’ by Vogue in 2002, and signed contracts with Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Chanel and Balenciaga. By now, she already appeared for over 60 times on the cover of a magazine.

So as you see, both of the models which you see in this shoot, are professionals and are used to the most glamorous kinds of shootings, but even this didn’t make them back down for Klein’s sinister work.
