Hey there!

I know, it's pretty late here but I felt like sharing some cool and very funny stuff with you dear readers.
Have you ever wondered how would look The Core if we were just one person? I did. That's why I decided to check out one of my favorite websites again, morphthing.com, in order to morph the four members of TC and make us one!

Yep, that's us. Domien, Beny, Magda and Julia mixed all together! And I must admit that we turned into one beautiful chick! What do you think?

Here are the four pictures I selected to create the morphing above:

Morphthing.com is very user-friendly.
You just need to find a good picture of yourself (it's better if you face the camera), upload it, follow the website's instructions to get your face ready to be morphed and there you go... Morph pictures of you and your friends, you and celebrities, celebrities and celebrities, etc. I could spend hours doing it! (wait, that's what I'm actually doing...).

Now and because I had so much fun, I'm going to show you a few morphs that I made and I want you to recognize who's morphed in the pictures. Ready?

Hey everyone!

First of all, I want to apologize for not blogging! I've been quite busy and I suffered from a serious lack of inspiration the last months. BUT, this is going to change! I'm actually thinking about many interesting things I could talk about... But let's start with something very Rock'N'Roll!

As far as I know, Fidia Falaschetti designs skateboard's graphics (but not only). His drawings are ironically trash, disturbing, meaningful and beautiful at the same time. I discovered his work in my brother's "Be Street" magazine and I knew I had to talk about it.
Unfortunately, because I don't know a shit about Art and I have no information about Falaschetti, I can only post pictures of his work. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do anyway.

Domien's article "Art never comes from happiness" inspired me this one. Her passion for drawing is her freedom. My freedom comes from writing. I thought it'd be interesting to talk about another art that free people's mind.

I remember my cousin told me once that with a pen in your hand and a piece of paper you become the King of the world. This is so true. Since I was able to write my name, I've always had the strong desire to express my states of mind and my little girl's made up stories into words. Anytime my mother would read me a story before sleeping, I would take my pair of scissors, my favorite pens and staple a few sheets of paper together to make my own book. I must have about 100 self-made books today, haha :)
This passion of writing became a need very fast and this is still the case today. Whenever I have time for it, I stop worrying about school, people or any of those "adult-stuff" and I let my mind speak instead. I lock myself up in my room or in my flat and then it's just me, my pen and the paper. This is truly freedom to me. I reinvent the world in a complete different way without giving a shit about "is it making any sense?" and so on... The "funny" thing about it is that I mostly write about very dark things. Violence is even prevalent in my writings and I almost never end my stories the happy-ending-way. This is why I consider writing as being an outlet. Things that make me sad and angry, they end up on the paper. And, in my opinion, this is the best therapy ever. (I guess this is why I've owned a journal for so many years).

What are you guys doing to free yourself? What's your own kind of freedom? Music, Cinema, Drawing, Fashion...? I'd really like to know! :)

I will end this article with a beautiful quote written by an unforgettable young girl. It sums-up my thoughts:

“Unless you write yourself, you can't know how wonderful it is; I always used to bemoan the fact that I couldn't draw, but now I'm overjoyed that at least I can write. And if I don't have the talent to write books or newspaper articles, I can always write for myself.”  Anne Frank

Good evening everyone!

Today I want to talk about one of my favorite band! They're 4 boys coming from Los Angeles, they're young, they play indie rock music and they are named after one amazing song of The Cure. Yes, I'm talking about... FUNERAL PARTY!
I discovered the band last year in a very famous french show called "Le Grand Journal". They were there to play their new single called "NYC moves to the sound of L.A" and I just fell in love with their music. Trust me, it was violent! After the show I felt like I had to google them on the net and search for their music. Fortunately, I managed to get their first and only album ("The Golden Age of Knowhere") quickly. I remember I played the CD over and over again and my mom got pissed off a lot haha. My favorite song from the band is "Giant Song", you can find it on deezer!

Now, let's introduce the band a bit better with their official biography and then listen to their hits :)
"Funeral Party is a five-piece band that formed late one night in a park. Hardcore bands and metal bands dominated the local music scene at the time in Whittier, California, an East Los Angeles suburb comprised of mostly working-class enclaves. In the East Los Angeles neighborhoods adjacent to Whittier however, a post-punk dance-craze revival was emerging and Funeral Party began gigging every weekend.

The band quickly developed a following and a D.I.Y. ethos that encapsulated East Los Angeles’ rich musical history. Initially, the band didn’t even own equipment and had to borrow it from bands they played with at East Los Angeles backyard parties and warehouses. Funeral Party quickly achieved a mythic stature in the Los Angeles underground. Lars Stalfors, engineer for Mars Volta, invited the band to record in Volta’s studio in East L.A. The sessions yielded “Chalice”, which immediately became East L.A.’s theme song and could be heard bumping on iPods throughout Southern California. What is unique about Funeral Party is the band’s universal appeal; there exist numerous infusions in their music. This band is crucially important as they have created a visceral music that encapsulates the experiences of contemporary youth. "

"Love to them was something induced by certain calculated actions; and it was cherished in ball rooms, in scented conservatories, by glances of the eyes, flashes of the fan, and faltering suggestive accents. Love here was a robust, ingenuous thing which stood out in the daylight, naked and solid, to be tapped and scrutinised as you thought best."

Beautiful, isn't it? These lines were written by one of my favorite writer, Virginia Woolf. I'm always so amazed by the precision of the words she chose and the fact she made it sound like poetry. It's absolutely "intoxicating" when you start reading her novels, even though, I must admit, her style is very unique and kind of special. I've studied her collection of short stories entitled "A haunted house and other stories" at school and  this is just brilliant. This woman, even during the early XXth century, had some strong views and opinions on feminism. You can notice this in her writings. Her life was pretty fucked-up: she has been sexually abused by two of her step-brothers, she lose her parents very young, she was depressive, she turned lesbian (not saying this is a bad thing, but it was not really well-seen at the time) and tried to kill herself twice. She succeeded the third time. And believe me, you can feel her distress, her pain, her revolt through her novels. I suggest that every litterature's fan take the time to read one of her books, it truly is a beautiful experience.
Good evening everyone, I hope you all had a great week-end.
This short article is going to be about one of my non-original passion: the music. I started taking singing lessons at the age of 10 and I've been singing into a band for four years at the "WestRock School" in my home town. I played guitar at the age of 14 but I had to give up on all those amazing things because of school two years ago. But lately, even with my final exams coming soon, I took the time to record stuff with one of my closest friend, Romain. The track below is a song of The Killers (Mr Brightside) that has been recorded live this April for the french "Star d'un jour" show. We haven't won the contest but it was an amazing experience! I hope you will like it :)

For the very first time in my short blogger's life, I'm going to talk about make-up online. I know, freaky. You guys might know this before I start anything: MagdalĂ©na is definitely the best at talking about make up on The Core and she does it very well. So don't get me wrong, I'm not an expert!
However, I absolutely love cosmetics! Dior lipsticks are like little diamonds to me :) I've already spent over 200€ in one hour for that shit, haha. But there's a brand I especially love out of all the others... Make-up Forever. It's a very professional brand used by make up artists, it has so many wonderful colours and you can compare it to brands like m-a-c or make up store.
I'm going to show you some of my favorite cosmetics from Make up Forever.

Here is the foundation HD from make-up forever. I use it everyday because it looks very natural on my skin and covers little imperfections. The quality of this foundation is amazing! But if you've got some serious skin issues I suggest you use a foundation that's covering a bit more. I use the #118

I am a HUGE Quentin Tarantino's fan and I think this incredible film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer and "actor" deserves his own article on The Core's blog.

I've been loving cinema since childhood and more especially "offbeat movies" like SinCity or Edward Scissorhands, the kind of movies that take you to another place in a minute because of their very unique scenarios, sets, details, characters and so on. Tarantino is, in my opinion, the "Big Boss" of that off-beat style. Every movie he has directed, written or produced is a masterpiece to me (yeah, even the Grindhouse ones ;-D). They're all mixing cult characters, original scenarios, catchy dialogues, violent scenes and unforgettable quotes. No one can pretend being completely left cold after watching one of his movies. You can hate them, for sure, but you can't remain indifferent. And this is basically why I'm so fond of his work.

Don't really know what I'm doing here and what's the point of all this. Is this blog a way to reach popularity, success or even fame? Let's just call it an outlet. A web page in which I'm going to let my mind talk without thinking if what I'm saying makes sense or not. I'm not good at it anyway.

To be honest, I don't think this blog will have any interest to anyone's eyes. People don't give a shit about real things and deep thoughts. We're all "aroused" by fake personalities and inaccessibility: things and lives we don't have. But hey, let's give it a chance.

p.s: listen to Funeral Party, it's awesome (:
